The Maryland Terrapins are a team in the NCAA. They compete in the ACC and in the future, the Big Ten. Their team name comes from the diamondback terrapin, a species of turtle endemic to the Chesapeake Bay region. Their team colors are derived from the Maryland state flag. They are located in College Park, Maryland.
